Refund and Cancellation Policy

How billing cycles work, how to cancel, and when we will refund you.

Last updated 2026-08-10

What this says, in short

  • Monthly billing, cancel any time in the Stripe portal.
  • A free plan with no card so you can test before paying.
  • We refund double charges, our outages and our billing bugs.
  • Statutory consumer cancellation rights always take precedence.

This summary is for orientation only — the numbered sections below are the terms that apply.

01

How billing works

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance. There is no annual plan and no minimum term. Your billing cycle runs from the day you subscribed — start on the 12th and your cycle runs the 12th to the 12th — and your included allotments reset on that same anniversary rather than on the first of the calendar month.

Usage beyond your plan's included allotment is metered per email and appears on the invoice for the cycle in which it was used, so overage is never a surprise months later.

In plain terms: You pay for a month at a time, and any overage is billed with that same month.

02

Try before you pay

The Free plan exists so you do not have to buy blind. It needs no card, includes a monthly allotment of received mail, and gives you the same MCP server, REST API and signed webhooks as the paid plans. We would rather you tested there than bought a plan and asked for it back — which is also why we do not offer a separate paid trial.

03

Cancelling

Cancel any time from Billing → Manage billing in the console, which opens the Stripe portal. No email required, no retention call.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the cycle you have already paid for. You keep full access until then, after which the account drops to the Free plan: your domains keep receiving mail within the Free allotment, and sending stops.

Retention does not change when you cancel: stored mail is kept for the same 15 days on every plan, including Free. It is still worth exporting anything you need through the API, since that window keeps running regardless of which plan you are on.

In plain terms: Cancel in two clicks. You keep what you paid for until the cycle ends, then drop to Free.

04

Refunds

Because plans are month-to-month and cancellable at any time, we do not generally refund the current period or give partial refunds for unused time. We will refund you in these cases:

  • You were charged after cancelling, or charged twice for the same cycle.
  • A sustained failure on our side made the service substantially unusable for a meaningful part of the cycle.
  • You were billed overage caused by a bug on our side rather than by your actual usage.
  • You subscribed by mistake and tell us within 7 days, having used effectively none of the plan.

Approved refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe, usually within 5–10 business days depending on your bank.

In plain terms: We refund our mistakes and double charges. We do not refund a month you used and then changed your mind about.

05

Statutory rights

If you are a consumer, this policy does not take away any refund or cancellation right your local law gives you — including, in the UK and EU, the statutory right to cancel a distance contract within 14 days. Where those rights apply, they override anything narrower above.

06

Before you open a chargeback

Please email us first at support@inboundr.net. Most billing problems are a misread invoice or a mistake we can simply fix, and we can do it faster than a card dispute can. A chargeback normally results in the account being suspended while the bank investigates, which stops your mail flowing.

07

Price and plan changes

We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice to your account email; the change applies from your next cycle, and you can cancel before then if it does not suit you. Switching plans mid-cycle is prorated by Stripe. Current prices are always on the pricing page.
